Annotation:
Set in the 13th century, this romance tells the story of Merryn, a young woman living under an ancient curse which forbids any man from taking her or the family's castle by force. Although Sir Bishop of Lythe doesn't believe in the curse, he is somewhat cautious when he realizes that Merryn has been married four times but that all her husbands died before being able to bed her. Hoping to avoid that fate, Bishop sets out to win Merryn's hand (and her castle) the old fashioned way--by wooing her. However, as Bishop settles into life at the castle, he is haunted by strange dreams of a mysterious wizard and witch. Will these dreams put a stop to Bishop's attempts to win Merryn's love?
| Author Bio| Catherine Coulter | | Catherine Coulter graduated from Boston College with a master's degree in 19th-century European history. She first began writing romances after convincing herself that she could come up with something better than what was currently being published. While living in New York in 1978, she published her first novel with some help in plotting out the story from her physician husband. Since then she has gone on to write mostly Regency romances, many of them in the trilogy format she believes allows her to follow her character's lives more completely.
